Apurv Gupta is a Communications Professional with around two decades of experience – as a practicing Securities & Financial Regulatory Lawyer with leading corporate law firms, and as a Financial Journalist with India’s leading financial publications.

He currently leads Strategic Communications Group at Adfactors, where he advises clients on communication strategies in high-stakes and transformative situations such as Boardroom Issues, M&A transactions, Litigations, Insolvencies and Special Situations that impact business, stakeholder value and reputation.

In this role, he works closely with Founders, CXOs, Independent Directors, Institutional Investors, Capital Market Intermediaries, and Legal Professionals to shape communication frameworks around complex and sensitive issues involving both private and publicly listed companies.

Prior to this, he has worked with business publications like The Economic Times and Business Standard, writing about capital markets & macro-economic trends, M&A activity - including open offers, delistings, buybacks, derivatives as well as policy developments in securities and corporate law.

At Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, his role was largely centred on regulatory advice to listed companies and capital market intermediaries on corporate and securities law such as takeover regulations, insider trading, and listing compliance. He was part of several landmark transactions including Blackstone's open offer to Mphasis shareholders, Sumitomo's acquisition of Excel Crop Care, Igarashi Electric Works' and Tata Capital's acquisition of Igarashi Motors, CSC's acquisition of Xchanging Solutions, and the listing of IDFC Bank following its demerger from IDFC. He has also appeared before regulatory and judicial bodies, including the High Courts, the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT), and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
